Meet Jason Crosby, Minister to Students

Jason grew up in northern Kentucky where his father was a Baptist minister. He graduated with a B.A. from Centre College in Danville, Ky. and then graduated from Vanderbilt Divinity School. He was ordained by the ABC and while in Nashville in 2004, served as pastoral intern at Glendale Baptist (following an interim there by Mahan Siler).

After graduating from Vanderbilt, Jason married Kate who grew up in Louisville, and the Crosbys moved to Michigan. Jason served as interim pastor at First Baptist Church in Battle Creek at a time when it was integrating a large number of newly-arrived refugees from Burma. He helped organize a student group with refugee and American youth.

Jason and Kate moved to Louisville this past year, and Jason found work as a part-time case manager for the Kentucky Refugee Ministries. Jason had visited Crescent Hill and heard of the need for a Student Minister to continue the work of Josh Bailes and others with the youth.

He has been enthusiastically welcomed by the church youth and was called by the church to his present part-time position on Jan 23, 2008. In the fall of 2008 Jason hopes to enter law school at U of L on a part-time basis while continuing his service to the students at CHBC. Jason has run several marathons and enjoys reading and walking their lab/terrier mix.

He can be contacted by calling the church (896-4425) or by e-mail: jasoncrosby@bellsouth.net
