MEET JOSH BAILES
Joshua "Josh" Bailes is a candidate for the Minister for Children and Youth. A recommendation to call Josh will be presented at the church business meeting this Wednesday, November 17. Josh is a native of Owensboro, KY and is a life long member of Third Baptist Church. After graduating from Daviess County High School, Josh completed his undergraduate work at Georgetown College earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Religion. During his college work Josh served as a Pastoral Intern with the First Baptist Church of Frankfort. Josh has also worked as an Intern with the Baptist Joint Committee on Public Affairs, working with former CHBC member Brent Walker.
In pursuing his call to ministry Josh has completed one semester at the Baptist Theological Seminary of Richmond, and will continue his seminary training at the Baptist Seminary of Kentucky beginning in January 2005. Josh's experience with youth and children comes from serving as the Children's Minister (summer position) with his home church and from serving on the staff of Passport Youth camps for the past four summers. The last two summers he has served as the camp Pastor.
On the personal side, Josh was married on December 11, 2004. After the wedding, Josh and his wife Jessie will be moved to Louisville so that she may begin her studies in the Marriage and Family program at Louisville Presbyterian Seminary. Josh was ordained on August 8 of this year by the Third Baptist Church of Owensboro and ultimately wants to pastor. Josh and Jessie joined CHBC in Dec.
