Internationals/ESL Team

Here’s your opportunity to meet the world at your front door! Anyone interested in working with internationals from around the world now living in Louisville is invited to join the Internationals Ministry Team. Presently some members of the Team are working with English as a Second Language (ESL) students who meet at our church, welcoming them, serving them coffee and getting to know them during their thirty minute break each Monday and Friday morning.

On Wednesday mornings several of us serve at Friendship International which meets at Walnut Street Baptist Church. There, about sixty volunteers teach seven levels of English and many other crafts and fun classes to almost two hundred internationals from about twenty different countries. Wednesday afternoons three of our members lead a Conversational English class at our church.

In addition, three members of the team help with the Japanese services twice a month, and one member works with internationals on a college campus. We hope to have some kind of welcome for new international students at some of the colleges next year. We are seeking to reach out to internationals wherever they are in our city. If you have ideas for ministry to other internationals or if you can help with programs already established, please come and join us.

The main event of the year, which takes most of our planning and effort, is International Day on the first Sunday of October each year. New Member/Mentoring Team

The New Member/Mentoring Team is up and running, and, happily, we have had the opportunity to test our team concept. We try to pair our new members with people of similar interests and help them to integrate into our church family quickly and easily. We will follow our new members until they are comfortable in the church and also help them to define their gifts so that together we can do God’s work at Crescent Hill Baptist Church. Ombuds Team

This team’s purpose is using communication to resolve conflicts in the church. Our mission is to listen to each other and promote healthy communication within the congregation by encouraging: active listening, mutual dialogue, conflict resolution, problem solving and clear communication. Outreach Team

The mission of the Outreach Team is to communicate God's love through Jesus Christ and to create an inviting, caring, environment for all who come in contact with Crescent Hill Baptist church. Personnel Support Team

The Personnel Support Team coordinates all personnel programs of Crescent Hill Baptist Church, including employment, review, management and replacement of all church employees, except replacement of the Pastor. This team also recommends salaries, employee benefits or changes, as well as keeping current all Personnel Guidelines and Policies. Prayer Team

The Prayer Team has conventated to meet together in homes at least two times each month for directed prayer for those in our church family and community most in need of prayer and to write notes of encouragement. They encourage others to be more prayerfull and want to be part of bringing prayer response to the church.
