Wednesday Evening Activities
Elementary Clubs
Our elementary children participate in different activities throughout the year, which
occur in 4-week cycles. The schedule is shown below. These groups meet on Wednesday nights from 6 to 7 PM,
except for a few weeks in the summer.
- Missions Club - different studies each month from what Baptists believe to
experiencing God in many ways in everyday life.

Mission Friends (May - June 2006)
Our preschool children, ages 3 - 5, learn about different missionaries and countries
in Mission Friends. This activity is led by Sharon White and Marty Kent and
follows the preschool curriculum published by the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship,
Doing Missions in a World without Borders. Mission Friends follows the 8-week cycle,
alternating with Music Friends.
Music Friends (March - April 2006)
 Our preschool children, ages 3 - 5, participate in music activities led by Glenna
Hess, Janet Cole, and Carol Anne Edwards. Children sing, dance, move and groove,
as they begin their music education.
Music Friends alternates every 8 weeks with Mission Friends.
Sunday Evening Activities for Children
Children's Choir
Children in grades 1 - 5 participate in Children's Choir led by June & Louie
Bailey and Beth Wade. Music activities include movement, singing, games, hand chimes,
instruments, rhythm activities and refreshments. Rehearsals are from
5:00 - 6:00 pm on Sundays.
Church Library
There is a varied selection of children's books in the library conveniently
located off the Birchwood lobby. Some of these are listed at the
library page.
Church library hours: Sunday morning and Wednesday evening
In addition Crescent Hill Baptist church is located just across Birchwood
from the Crescent Hill Branch of the Louisville Free Public Library. A former
member of Crescent Hill, Dwight Cobb, imaginatively designed the children's
section there.
