Statement of Philosophy for Ministry with Children *
Crescent Hill Baptist Church will strive to develop and implement a comprehensive ministry with children,
seeking to disciple them in the way of Christ and to work for justice in their behalf. We will work with
other churches, agencies, and those who care for and speak in behalf of children. We will reflect our
commitment to children in the use of our resources and make children a priority in our decision-making,
budgeting, and programming.
Crescent Hill Baptist Church commits itself to being a sanctuary for children as our response to Jesus'
teaching that in the Kingdom of God to which we bear witness, the smallest and least powerful shall be
first. We pledge to make no distinction between "our" children and the children of others in our circles
of care. We believe that to provide for the safety and well-being of children, we must ensure that the
community and world in which they live becomes a safe and nurturing environment. We will strive to be
and to develop that kind of community for all children.

Our Goals
It is our desire to provide an environment in which a child feels loved and safe. We strive to teach
children the following basic Christian concepts:
- God loves us.
- Every person is important to God.
- The Bible is a special book.
- God made the world.
- God made families.
- Jesus is God's Son.
- The church is people who love Jesus and who love us.
